NB SCHOOLS VOTE
Join the
Program
Teachers, administrators, all school staff, students, and parents play an important role in helping our school communities voice their vote in every election. Whatever role you play in your school, you can lead important efforts to guide students and parents in to voter engagement activities. Are you in? Here’s how to get started:
STEP 1: Sign up your school right here. We will provide trainings and resources along the way.
STEP 2: Receive the Welcome + Action Plan.
STEP 3: Start registering and having events! (we’ll gladly support them)
STEP 4: Don’t forget to tell us how you are doing, so we can share it.
Teachers in every grade and subject have the opportunity to facilitate conversations with their students about the importance of participation in our democracy. Students have the opportunity to lead their peers in registering to vote. Together, you can turn your school into a hub for voter action. You will receive the toolkit to learn how to build a Voter Engagement Program.
Included in our toolkit:
- Welcome + Action Plan (Focused on registering elligible High Schoolers and parents) and worksheet
- Best Practices at the High School level
- Lesson Plans around voting/civic engagement
Educators in elementary and middle schools have the unique opportunity to facilitate conversations with parents about the importance of registering to vote. You can lead parents in registering to vote right in your school during enrollment periods or open school nights. And this is a great opportunity to include young students in the process!
